Vacuum Pumps - Oil Free (Dry) & Oil Lubricated Pumps

Vacuum Pumps
Becker are a long standing and world-renowned leader in the field of industrial vacuum pumps. We offer a wide range of operating and open flow air rates. We have both oil free and oil lubricated rotary vane pumps with Becker manufactured spares and accessories too. Matching the vacuum pressure required for your use in a lab for example will tell you which type of pump you require.

Oil Free (Dry) Vacuum Pumps

Oil-less rotary vane vacuum pumps are similar to other vane pumps. However, these pumps feature unique benefits you will not find with standard vacuum pumps. Oil-less rotary vane vacuum pumps are positive-displacement pumps that feature sliding vanes in a rotor rotating within a cavity.

Rotary vane pumps never experience internal metal-to-metal contact, so they are able to self-compensate for wear. As a result, they maintain peak performance longer than competing machinery.

This rotary vane vacuum pump is dry running and an excellent choice for medium or variable vacuum range. They are also a popular choice due to their lower maintenance requirements. We have a ranges of small and large oil-less rotary vane pumps to suit ,most applications.

The Benefits of oil in a Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump:

  • Oil Sealed – oil provides an effective seal enabling an ultimate vacuum up to <0,5 mbar (abs.)
  • Lubrication prevents wear – Plastic blades, rotor, housing and housing cover bearings are lubricated with oil making them virtually wear-free.
  • Reduced Operating Temperature – Heat is reduced as oil reduces friction with the compression chamber
  • Corrosion protection – oil protects all components from corrosion and reaction with the gas
  • Cleaning effect – The oil cleans the compressor chamber of impurities and prevents damage extending pump life and performance.

Replacement Vacuum Pump Considerations

As mentioned above, matching the pressure is an important factor when choosing between oil or oil free, but it is to the only thing to consider when choosing your overall model of pump. Here are some other points to consider:

  • Oil or hydrocarbon emission
  • Vibration produced by pump
  • Noise emission
  • Particle emission
  • Heat emission
  • Energy consumption
  • Investment and maintenance
